Awesome fish guys!  Trumps my 30 cm whitefish I've been catching!  Lol!

This is unfortunately my typical whitefish picture - that of a floppy fish that refuses to sit still long enough to snap a shot of.  On second thought, maybe the fish are trying to tell me something by pointing their tail and flipping at me?

I will fish anywhere and find beauty in it.

Very nice fish Guys!

That's a very healthy looking rainbow, Tyler! Did you catch it on nymphs or streamers?

Thanks,
Todd

He hammered a Hares ear nymph, took me a while to get him in. I thought for sure it was a smaller steelie!

How can you tell we had a little fun! :)
Evan caught more Browns then all of us combined.
Brennan did an excellent job of showing us the places he likes to fish.
They were his secret spots.
Secret because most normal people would not hike that far.
It was worth it though. 8)

The white tips are normal for rainbows, Vance but your fish is just very pronounced. Beauty..
The pic below from the comp river fish I got was similar.

White Tips on Rainbow trout are a DISTINCT feature to all non anadromous Rainbow Trout (aka all non-steelheads).  I've found the feature to be very prominent, especially in freestone rivers with wild rainbow trout/high gradient streams.

Great having you and Evan out this weekend.  Come back soon!  Hopefully next time I can sort out enough time to take the weekend off of work.

That has always been the rule of thumb around here too - there has to be a scientific reasoning for it I supposed.  Maybe I will ask next chance I get.

Ya it was great to meet you Vance, didn't get much chance to talk to Evan but I'm sure I will see you guys around! Glad you had a good time on the Cowi! Such a sweet river. The rainbows in there are all about the frosted tips  :P
