RipLips beads / Hanak hooks
« on: June 01, 2016, 07:02:59 AM »
Hi there.
I was wondering if any of you have experience with RipLips tungstens beads and hanak hooks
I contacted the RipLips owner to get a chart in order to make sure that the beads will fit the hooks but he doesnt have any.
I have size 10 jig hooks, size 10 nymph , size 14 and 16 scuds.

Also, feel free to share any other beads provider that you know (except Canadian Llama)

Thanks!

I haven't tried Ripped Lips, but I use mostly Cdn Llama.

There is also Dejon Hamann at Trout Legend who sells decent beads too.

I haven't had a problem with any beads going on Hanaks, only with some beads that are over-bored in the hole size so much that they slide over the eye of the hook (of hanaks or almost any hook).
I will fish anywhere and find beauty in it.

Thanks Chris.
It is exactly the issue I have at the moment .. all beads from cdn Llama are going over the eye.
It was going fine with other hooks but not so good with my hanaks.

Gerry, I know Llama has the narrow slot beads (compared to the wide slot beads), but it isn't advertised per se.  The wide slot ones drive me nuts.

You can always email the owner (Kent) and mention the problem.  For some reason there are some people who have requested the wide gap beads, so he carries a lot of those.  I know it is an extra step of work, but emailing Kent and letting him know of the problem might help.  He is a super nice man to deal with (if you don't know that already!).
