Little Black Stone Flies
« on: April 14, 2018, 02:17:13 PM »
Hey Guys; went out to have a look around the Neversink today and saw a lot of dark slate colored flies around, maybe size 16-18, figured they were little black stones or perhaps Slate colored Caddis ? Apatanidae maybe? Sorry no pic but may be able to get some tomorrow .
Thanks

Would be great to see some photos! :)
For me, the quality of a trout is not measured in inches or pounds, but rather by the journey and circumstances that allowed our paths to cross...

Yes it would and youre right of course. I did some reading and looked up some pics and from that , determined that what I observed was NOT little black stones anyway and probably caddis of the genus Apatania , which species however I am not sure of
