Greetings from Mexico!
« on: July 30, 2018, 11:45:47 AM »
Hi all!
This Manuel, from Guadalajara,Jalisco Mexico. I am originally from Mexico City, where I used to fish mostly for rainbow and brown trout on stillwaters. Then, I moved to Jalisco a couple of years ago where trout fishing is possible but only after a good hiking to get to the "secret spring rivers". In this geography fishing is principally orientated to largemouth bass and saltwater spices (we are in the pacific coast).
I found this forum very useful to learn new fly patterns and tips, and I hope I can give back some of my learnings as well to you all.

Thanks and tight lines!

Hello and welcome to the forum, Manuel! I can't wait to hear more about the fishing that you enjoy in your part of the world (both salt and fresh water)!

Cheers,
Todd

Sounds like you live in an exciting area to fish!  Look forward to hearing some stuff!

I have fished all my life but it was 2 trips to Mahahual Mexico in the Yucatan peninsula near Belize that got me completely hooked on fly fishing.  So welcome the message board and tight lines.
Good things come to those who wade.

Thanks Todd, Chris and Scott.

Yes, Mahahual is a wonderful place if you are chasing permit, bonefish and tarpon!

Yeah, I fished the Yucatan shoreline and down to Ascension Bay, and that was my first warmwater fishing experience.  Really enjoyed that area, though it has been a long time since I have been there.
