I'm sure we'll end up with the whitefish on the list!  Pikeminnows... we'll see.  There might be none at that lake!

Hicks is another lake I've never really fished before.  That's what I like about this too - Sasamat, Buntzen, Hicks... lakes I've never fished before this year.  Presents an extra level of challenge.

That's exactly what the Summer Series is meant to do Chris. These competitions gives all of us a chance to fish the "local" lakes within the Fraser Valley and rekindle our love of fishing for small, wild cutthroat and stocked rainbow trout in nearby lakes that we often forget about or simply overlook when planning a stillwater adventure.

I know that it has done wonders for me, and I'll definitely be back at some point in time to revisit all of them... :)

Todd,

Your timing sucks. I'll be in the Kootenays fishing the Elk, Michelle, Crow (on the other side) and maybe even the Wigwam. I should be wetting a line just as the comp starts.

I know you feel bad for me. ;D

Aaron

PS Glad you checked out those lakes. It should be easier fishing than the last one (fingers crossed)

Oh, if that isn't a nasty curse I don't know what is!

Looking forward to this one. Haven't fished the Lake for years.
Being able to move around the lake easier will be nice; no ROWING or slow poke electric motors.

I hear the cutts can get up to 6 pounds on occasion there.  I'm sure that's a rare find, but I was also surprised by what we found in Buntzen too.

A fish like that would score well.

Only one week before the Hicks Lake Fly Fishing Competition (Sunday August 26th), and the fishing reports that I've heard and weather forecast sound very promising for this event!

The weather this week should be much cooler than last week (low 20's and cloudy) while Sunday calls for sunshine; light winds; and an air temperature of 20C, which should create an absolutely ideal situation and conditions for the competition and barbeque.

I hope to see a few more new faces (and some old ones) signing up and coming out to join in on a fun day - both on and off the water. Please respond here if you're coming or email me at: toishis@uniserve.com

Cheers,
Todd

It's now 2 days before the Hicks Lake Fly Fishing Competition (Sunday, August 26th), and there's still room for a few more participants that want to join us for the day on the water. We also need a few boat owners that are willing to take on a passenger/competitor for this event. No prior competitive angling experience is necessary, and I have all the necessary gear to equip your boat for this event.

Thanks,
Todd

I just had a last minute cancellation. Does anyone want to come out to tomorrow's event and fill a spot in one of the boats and help balance the number of competitors?
