North Shore - Lake Superior Tribs - Sept 2012
« on: September 17, 2012, 02:37:45 PM »
Hey gang,

Well my latest adventure was to the North Shore region of Lake Superior, namely Thunder Bay to east of Nipigon. The water levels were low but our spirits were high and despite the conditions we managed to get into some great fish!

The last two days it rained and brought in fresh runs of coho and chinook although the majority of the fresh fish were small, 2-4lbs.

There was vast schools of pinks in the rivers at all times and they were a nice little filler to the other larger species that we were after.

In the one river we got into some incidental coaster brook trout. We got a few nice pictures before putting them back. What amazing looking fish! We saw three tagged brookies as well in the river and a couple that were pushing 10lbs! The biggest we got was in the 5lb range.

Here's some pics from the trip.
