Fly Fishing General Discussions / Casting Lesson
« on: April 28, 2014, 07:37:10 AM »
My son got the mrs and I a 4hr tune up as a  xmas present, sunday  with  Ms. April Vokey. It was great!!!  One sure  picks up a lot of bad habits over the years, when self taught . I left the lesson with more confidence and great advice to improve my casting ability. I highly recommend  April ,down to earth great teacher.

I have fished Corbett a few times and the fishing was great! I also must add that I did not pay. It was a trade, mushrooms for Peter, fishing for me. Glad my brother does not fish. ;D

Here we go again, the report from the Kamloops paper was wrong!!! The information given to the reporter was incorrect. The case has not made it to court. Google Nicola Fish and Game Club vs Douglas Lake Ranch for more information.    P.S> Gord I am not loading the boat soon! :-[ :'(

Kamloops Daily News today. Douglas Lake Ranch must allow access to Stoney and Minnie lakes. B.C. supreme court decided June 28. DLR has 30 days to launch appeal. The Nicola Valley Fish and Game Club has pushed hard and fought a good battle, kudos to them!!

Gordon, if we all compared our flies to Johns ,we could possibly catch more fish! He would be to busy tying our orders, leaving us more time to fish!! ;D ;)

Chris, I think the club wanted the right to fish the lakes. The original road was open to the public. I fished the lakes with my dad as a teenager. I could never understand in the first place how the ranch could close a public road!

Fly Fishing General Discussions / Re: Fishing at Night

I have night fished the interior lakes of B.C. for longer than I care to admit! Started with my dad in the 1960 s, trolling Tom Thumbs on top. Now I fish large leechs on a sinktip or intermediate type lines. I just returned from Roche, largest fish 4lbs. 12oz taken after 10 pm.on a size 6 brown leech!

Spotted some maruto jig hooks on ebay, was wondering if anybody has tried them. I was thinking about using them for balanced leechs .
