« on: February 05, 2017, 06:11:34 AM »
Just wondering, I have a mess of TMC 2302 #12 hooks. Are they considered strong enough. What do most chironomids fishers recommend?

Casual Conversations and Discussions / 10 wt sinking line???
« on: March 29, 2016, 05:30:16 PM »
Looking at the slim options for a 10 wt sinking fly line. Thinking a Rio Deep 7 but doesn't look like it comes in a 10 wt.
Will be used mostly for lake trout. Any suggestions?

Has anyone tried this line? I'm considering it for pike. Will use a number of different flies from large to medium and streamers to popper type. |At present I'm using a Rio Clouser  in a 10 wt and have not been disappointed.
Any suggestions.

Introductions and Greetings / Intro from Manitoba Parkland
« on: June 04, 2013, 07:21:30 AM »
Good morning, everyone! My name is Bill Pollock, I live in Roblin, Manitoba
, where I have resided for the past 35 years. I began fly fishing in about 72 and dabbled in it for a few years. After purchasing my first donut type tube, I experienced a new found favourite way to fish. Since then, I have chased trout, smallmouth bass, pike, etc. here in Manitoba and into Alberta, BC, Montana and Washington.  I do most of my fishing here in the Parkland of Manitoba as we have a large variety of species within an hours drive of my home. I have graduated to a pontoon boat equipped with most of the necessary items to keep a 70 plus year old comfortable and entertained.
I am a co-chair of the Bug Chucker Cup Stillwater Fly fishing Tournament here in Roblin, Manitoba. I have been fortunate to meet many fly fishers from both Canada and the US while fishing here in the Parkland.
I want to wish each and everyone a super Summer of fishing, whether the catching is good or not.
