About Me

I live in the city of Airdrie, Alberta Canada.  Airdrie is a satellite city of Calgary and located about 40 mins north of the metropolis of Calgary. I live there with my wife and two daughters 11 and 15.  Sadly neither of them are interested in fly fishing.
I work at home on a full time basis for TELUS as a Senior Design Specialist in the Network Logical Engineering department.  As a Senior Design Specialist I'm responsible for writing MOP (Method Of Procedure) documentation.  These are technical documents that myself and our implementation team use in order to perform additions or changes on our Fixed Access Networks (xDSL and GPON).

I really enjoy fly fishing as it provides me an escape from the daily grind of working in front of a computer all day.  I tend to prefer fishing moving water as opposed to fishing sill water, as for one I'm better at it, and secondly I enjoy hiking.  Seeking and Fly Fishing moving water takes me to some very beautiful destinations in which one day I hope to show my grandkids when they become old enough.

I took an intro Fly Fishing course from Hansen's in Calgary back in 2010, but really couldn't dedicate any time to it because of work expectations and having a young family.  I took a three year sabbatical from Fly Fishing and four years ago got back into it.  I started off slow but got more serious about it in the last couple of years.
I got interested in Euro Nymphing last year (2016) through George Daniel's book, Dynamic Numphing.  At first I was more focused on inproving my existing suspender Nymphing techniques but mid year I gave some of the tight line techniques a shot and had some success with it.  However, I have not been consistent.  I'm looking to improve my overall nymphing skills but without having a mentor it's been a bit of a tough go.
Just recently, through Facebook, I was introduced to the Competitive side of Fly Fishing.   I'm looking forward to meeting and learning from likeminded fly fishermen about Euro Nymphing and the competitive side of the sport.

My Interests

I'm interested in fly fishing, camping, hiking,  badminton, soccer, investing and occasionally playing on my xbox one.
