Chris, if I understand you well, you can use this also tying the dry lies to the tippet, as it provides the dry fly some flexibility. Do you confirm this?
thanks

Do you mean using this knot to attach the dry fly to the tippet, like a non-slip loop knot?  So the dry fly (or any fly) would slide around freely on the end of the leader, as opposed to be attached with a fixed knot?

It might work but I don't think this knot would work well that way just due to the tying method required (I did a bad job of describing it I think) - it would require pulling the entire fly through the loop while tying the knot.  It is more designed for just making a quick loop at the end of a leader from which to attach finer tippet.
I will fish anywhere and find beauty in it.

Todd, are you familiar with CDC from Marc Petijean?  I purchased some of his CDC variation, excellent quality.

this is a very easy knot  is a variation of "blood knot"  but much easier to tie.  One advantage is that it works also between lines of different thickness or different material.   It has no name, but we call it "Bergamasc Knot." pics are self explanatory.

It is called the "dropper loop knot". It is used mostly by bait fishermen in salt water. They take a heavy piece of line, tie a bunch of loops, then attach droppers to them.

Just came across this simple and fast method of tying a blood knot:  http://www.ginkandgasoline.com/fly-fishing-tips-technique/the-worlds-best-blood-knot/
Almost as useful for us older folk with clumsy fingers as Todd Oishi's method for tying a triple surgeons with forceps.
