No boat requirement!!!!  Then you can put me on the waiting list Todd, hoping for a team vacancy that needs filling. Being retired, I can do this on a moments notice!!

Great to hear Peter!  And it is a huge bonus not having to have supply boats!
I will fish anywhere and find beauty in it.

Update for the 2017 North American Loch-Style Fly Fishing Championships:

Just a reminder that all Canadian competitors are required to have a Canadian Pleasure Craft Operators Card and international guests are encouraged to obtain a Canadian Pleasure Craft Operators Card if they wish to operate a boat according to Canadian law. If you don't have one, please take the time to visit their website and write the test:

Update for April 25, 2017:

I just spoke with the manager of Tunkwa Lake Resort, and he asked me to let the international guests know that if given enough notice they can arrange loaner sleeping bags for their stay at the resort. This will allow the international guests the ability to stay at the resort without having to bring or purchase bedding.

Tunkwa Lake Resort has been designated as the headquarters and staging area for transportation for this year's NALS, so it would be to your team's advantage and convenience to book a cabin well before they're all reserved for this -event.

In order to reduce the costs and hassles of traveling to pick up and drop off rental vans from the city of Kelowna (as we did for last year's Nationals), I was wondering if any of you will be driving vehicles that can comfortably seat 6 competitors (including the driver) and would be willing to drive half of your group for 2 of the competition days during this year's NALS?

You will be reimbursed for the fuel that's consumed while transporting the 6 competitors in your group during these 2 days. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Cheers,
Todd

Update for May 15, 2017:

Please note that a drogue is considered to be an essential part of each competition angler's equipment, and it is the ultimately the responsibility of each competitor to provide their own drogue or arrange a loaner well in advance of this competition (3 drogues being supplied by each team will be sufficient).

Competitors are permitted to use either a Minn Kota drift sock or paradrogue (rectangular sheet) up to a maximum of 25 square feet, which is the international standard.

A total of 2 Minn Kota funnel-shaped drogues will be assigned to each Letter Group, in order to ensure that all of the groups will have a sufficient number of drogues (a minimum of 6 drogues is required for each Letter Group). Competitors are responsible for transporting their drogues to and from each lake venue.

There will be 12 competitors using 6 boats in each Letter Group, which means that there must be at least 6 drogues in each group, so I need everyone or their team captain to post a reply to let me know if they will be supplying a drogue, and how many, so I can add them to the equipment list.

Please post your reply on this thread or email me at: toishis@gmail.com

Thank-you,
Todd
