Team Canada Commonwealths Auction
« on: November 08, 2019, 11:44:43 AM »

auction is now open

Welcome to Team Canada's Online Auction for the 2020 Commonwealth Fly Fishing Championship in New Zealand. Thank-you to all of the generous sponsors, companies, and individuals that donated items for our auction and for their support! We are still looking for sponsors and accepting items for the auction, so please contact Brian Danilkiewicz at: flyfishingauction@gmail.com  if you'd like to donate an item(s) for our auction.

Please take a moment to read the rules before bidding on the auction items...

AUCTION RULES:
1. $5.00 is the minimum, acceptable bid increase.

2. Receipt of bids will be acknowledged by the auctioneer through email, and the bid will being posted on the item in a timely manner. Bidders are responsible for monitoring the auction for any dollar amount increases on the items that they're bidding on.

3. In the event of there being two or more identical bids for the same item, the bid that was submitted first will be the bid that is accepted.

4. Please note that all bidding for items on this on-line auction closes at 6:00pm on Friday, December 6, 2019 (Pacific Standard Time), however the "Two Minute Rule" applies to all auction items that have active bidding wars within the final five minutes of the auction (see following paragraph for information on how the Two Minute Rule works).

5. Two Minute Rule: This rule allows for the person willing to pay the most to win the auction item. The auction ends at 6:00pm on Decmber 6, 2019, so all bids must be in BEFORE 6:00pm. 6:00pm IS TOO LATE (the time stamp on your email must read 5:59pm or earlier). The auction IS OVER at 6:00pm. However.....If there is a "bidding war" - meaning that more than one person is actively bidding on the item during the last 2 minutes, then the 2 minute rule comes into play.
EXAMPLE:
a) The auction closes at 6:00pm. Joe bids $50.00 at 5:58 (identified by using the email time-stamp).
b) Frank comes along and bids $55.00 at 6:00pm. Because Joe's bid and Frank's bid are 2 minutes apart, the auction does NOT close as originally stated in the description and bidding continues.
c) Joe then bids $60.00 at 6:02. Because Joe's bid and Frank's bid are 2 minutes apart, the auction does NOT close and bidding continues.
d) Frank now bids $65.00, but his bid doesn't come in until 8:05. Because there are 3 minutes between bids (more than two minutes between the last 2 bids), the auction is over and Joe wins the auction for $60.00.
Note: ANYONE can join in the bidding war at ANY time.  Just because they weren't there to start it, doesn't meant they can't finish it :)  So, if Trisha wants to come in at 6:04 and place a bid, when she hadn't before, she can, and she could win it if nobody else bids after her, or a bid is placed 3 minutes (or longer) after her bid.
e) Please note that in the event that there are too many "bidding wars" occurring at the same time, additional time will be allowed beyond the 2 minute rule, for the auctioneer to post and update those bids...

6. Bidders must refresh their browser or page to view the most recent updates to the bids <<< EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!!!

7. Email notifications will be sent out to the successful bidders requesting settlement of their bid(s).

8. If payment is not arranged and/or received within five days, the auction item will be offered to the next highest bidder.

SUBMITTING YOUR BIDS:
- All bids must be emailed to Brian Danilkiewicz (the auctioneer) at the following email address: flyfishingauction@gmail.com
- All bids must be submitted by email and must include the following details:
1. Your first and last name.
2. The item Lot Number.
3. A brief description of the item.
4. The dollar amount of your bid.
